Julia -volunteer

My name is Julia Dakin. I have always lived and worked on a dairy farm my whole life. I started in Winsford then moved to Malpas when I married my husband David. We have now lived here for 25 years and we have 2 children, one at university and one working on the family farm, and is working to expand into poultry.

I did my A levels, left school and went to work in a bank, then moved to Dalgety Agriculture. I then began touring around Cheshire and Shropshire selling Denkavit milk powder, until we started our family.

I have always been interested in horses, being an avid rider since I was small and in recent years being a groom to both children.

I now work part-time driving a school minibus and in the school exam period, I also carry out agricultural market research.

I have always had a keen interest in young farmers, being county Lady Chairman back in the day and being the current President of Malpas YFC.
